City paving season getting underway

Next week, crews with the City of Prince George will begin the city’s capital road and sidewalk rehabilitation projects for the 2018 paving season. This year’s largest projects are expected to be the operations on Cowart Road and two sections of Foothills Boulevard.

The year’s first road rehabilitation projects are as follows:

  • Highway 97 frontage road between Martin Road and Sabyam Road
  • Glenview Drive between Eden Drive and the north end of Glenview
  • Eden Drive between Taft Drive and Dawson Road
  • Toombs Drive (complete road)

All of these projects are anticipated to be completed by May 16, but are dependent upon the weather.

Motorists are advised to look for alternate routes whenever possible and to drive with caution around road crews.

The budget for road rehabilitation projects this year is roughly $5.3 million, while the budget for sidewalk rehabilitation is about $1.2 million.
