There were 46 building permits issued in the city in September, worth an estimated $8.4 million.
This is on par with the number of permits issued in September last year, 46, but the value last year was considerably more at $18.7 million. The spike in last year’s value was due to $10 million in commercial permits issued last September.
There were 47 building permits issued in September 2015 with an estimated value of $5.5 million.
In September this year there were 15 new single family dwellings building permits, $5,975,610.
The building permits included a permit at 990-998 Railway Rd. for office retail and oil storage building for Co-Op, valued at $443,000.
Development Permits included one at 4833 Otway Rd. for subdivision with groundwater protection development permit area and one at 7127 Foxridge Avenue, for construction of single family house within a groundwater protection development permit area.
There were 374 building permits issued in the city between January 1 and September 30, with an estimated value of $95.7 million. That compared to 373 permits issued for the same period last year, with an estimated value of $114 million and 390 permits issued in 2015 with an estimated value of $70 million.
