Council asked administration to bring forward bylaw amendments that would allow an unspecified number of beehives on single-family residential properties within city limits.
The direction came from a notice of motion noting that the current Animal Control Bylaw does not specify whether beekeeping activities are allowed.
The notice of motion includes information on apiary allowances from peer municipalities, including Chilliwack, Kelowna, Saanich, Kamloops, and Langley.
