Lara Beckett is seeking re-election as the Electoral Area Director for Area C, Chilako River-Nechako, Regional District of Fraser Fort-George.
Lara has served on the regional board for the last five terms, and as board chair this past term. She has lived in the Chilako area for 28 years and enjoys spending time in the outdoors gardening, canoeing, hiking and skiing. Lara has a degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria and a background in alternative forestry practices and policy.
“My continuing priority,” said Beckett, “will be to integrate climate change adaptation and mitigation into Regional District policy and services. The impact of climate change needs to be reflected in all of our decisions, from protecting agriculture land for food security to preparing for emergencies, reducing solid waste and encouraging the circular economy.”
With the continued support of voters, Lara Beckett is looking forward to serving the people of Area C, from Miworth to Norman Lake, Beaverly to the Blackwater and everyone in between.
The election is October 17, 2026.
