Prince George RCMP frontline police officers conducting a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation have seized a large quantity of suspected illicit drugs from a local residence.
The investigation began on August 24, 2026, at a residence on the 6200-block of Monterey Road. Once inside the home, police officers located and seized approximately $29,000 in cash, and over 100 grams of two unknown substances believed to be illicit drugs. They also seized two firearms and ammunition as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia.
The single occupant of the residence at the time of the investigation was arrested and later released pending the results from the National Laboratory on the unknown substances and any future charge approval from the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
“This investigation highlights the excellent observational skills and diligence of our frontline police officers. We will continue to proactively target illegal weapons and illicit drugs in our community and bring the findings of these investigations before the courts,” says Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
