Get ready to climb aboard, explore and get up close with some of the biggest and coolest vehicles in Prince George.
The Prince George Public Library’s popular Touch a Truck event returns to the Civic Plaza on Friday, August 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., bringing more than a dozen vehicles together for an afternoon of hands-on fun for the whole family.
This year’s lineup features some familiar favourites including the Rocky Mountain Rangers, BC Ambulance, PG Fire Rescue and YRB along with some exciting firsts. For the first time ever, a City of Prince George Zamboni will be rolling into Touch a Truck.
And there’s even more to explore. Thanks to the generous backing of Tourism Prince George, families can enjoy a mini-rail ride during the event. There will also be hotdogs available by donation, thanks to the support of Integris Credit Union and Save-On-Foods.
“Touch a Truck is exactly what a public library should be. A place where the community comes together, families have fun and kids can discover something new,” said Steve Hamilton, Manager of Communications & Engagement. “We’re thrilled to bring back this event and give families the chance to get hands-on with the people and vehicles that help make our community work.”
With more than a dozen vehicles, including several participating for the first time, there will be plenty to see, touch, explore and ask questions about.

The Prince George Public Library serves the community through its Bob Harkins and Nechako branches, as well as online resources and programming. PGPL welcomes approximately 700 people each day across its two branches.
