Prince George city council approved the first three readings of amendments to the Smoke and Vape Free Places Bylaw to allow smoking and vaping for theatrical, cinematic, or other artistic performances, subject to prior written approval by the City of Prince George.
Groups may apply for a bylaw exemption to allow nicotine-free smoking or vaping as part of a performance if a safety plan is provided. Council heard that updating the bylaw supports local arts by enabling authentic performances and provides a clear administrative process moving forward.
