Northern BC entrepreneur recognized on national stage

Prince George-based boutique communications firm, Monogram Communications, took home four awards at the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) National Awards of Excellence, held May 25th in St. Andrews, New Brunswick.

Monogram was recognized with the following honours:

  • Gold – Best Integrated Communications Campaign (Small Budget) — Kitselas Treaty Get Out the Vote Campaign
  • Bronze – Best Brand Development Campaign — School District 57 Visual Identity
  • Gold – Agency Team of the Year (Small) — (This is the second year in a row Monogram has been recognized for this award.)

“Honestly, this means the world to us. We pour everything into our clients’ work, from the strategy to the creativity and care. To have that recognized, for multiple projects, on a national stage speaks to the talents and dedication of our team,” said Alyson Gourley-Cramer, Principal and CEO of Monogram Communications.

In addition to the firm’s three wins, Gourley-Cramer was personally honoured with the CPRS Entrepreneurship of the Year Award, recognizing her excellence in building, scaling and championing a communications firm that is bettering the Canadian public through strong, strategic communications.

Monogram worked alongside the Kitselas First Nation’s Treaty team for the final six years of the 33 years of its historic treaty negotiations.

“The results of this campaign speak for themselves—a 96% voter turnout and 87% yes vote is extraordinary. Monogram brought real care and strategic thinking to this work. They understood what was at stake for our community and helped us communicate that in a way that moved people to show up in favour. We’re proud of what we accomplished together.” — David Try, PhD, Senior Kitselas Treaty Negotiator / Director Treaty

Prince George BC’s School District 57 (SD57) came to Monogram requesting new branding and a visual identity that would reflect SD57’s four communities and three First Nations it serves.

“A brand might seem like a small thing, but when it’s done right, people feel it. What Monogram created for School District 57 was adopted quickly because it actually reflected who we are—our community, our pride, our students. We hear it from our rightsholders, staff and families all the time now. It’s been a pleasure working with a team that listens as well as they create.” – Jameel Aziz, Superintendent, School District 57

Now entering its seventh year, Monogram Communications is a team of 10 dedicated professionals. They serve clients across Canada through rebrands and web design, integrated communications-marketing campaigns, crisis communications, strategic planning, event planning, content management, public relations and more.
