Cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in the Terry Fox Ride of Hope on Sunday, June 7, in support of the Terry Fox Foundation and its ongoing mission to fund innovative cancer research across Canada.
The ride begins at 11 a.m. at Tano Fuel in Shelley and welcomes everyone from recreational riders to experienced cyclists looking for a challenge. Participants are encouraged to register in advance.
Riders will tackle a course featuring mostly rolling gravel roads, with aid stations available every 23 kilometres. While all bikes are welcome, including e-bikes, gravel and mountain bikes with a minimum tire width of 30mm are recommended for the terrain.
Participants can choose the experience that best suits them:
• Complete one 23 km lap
• Push further by riding multiple laps within four hours
• Form a relay team with friends and take turns riding throughout the event
The Terry Fox Ride of Hope first began in 2015 to mark the 35th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. Led by Terry’s younger brother, Darrell Fox, a group of cyclists rode 350 kilometres to the base of Mount Terry Fox in tribute to Terry’s enduring legacy.
Over the past decade, the Ride of Hope has grown into a national movement, bringing together riders from all backgrounds to help raise more than $2.25 million for cancer research. From “Terry-Tough” endurance rides to family-friendly recreational routes, the event continues to inspire Canadians to channel their passion for cycling into meaningful impact.
Whether riders are participating to challenge themselves, honour loved ones or continue Terry Fox’s dream of a world without cancer, the Prince George Ride of Hope promises to be a memorable day of community, perseverance, and purpose.
