Primetime Wrestling bracing for a GIANT weekend

For regular fans of Primetime Wrestling at the Prince George Civic Centre, their ring favorites often seem larger than life – colourful, daring and flamboyant. But this weekend, the league gets ready to welcome a massive grappler who is not just big on personality – he’s a giant by any measure.

Van Bruggen, who tips the scales at 325 pounds and measures seven feet tall, is slated to make his Prince George debut this weekend and the wrestlers in the locker room are already starting to feel anxious to learn if their name will be the one listed to oppose this colossus. Van Bruggen trained in Florida under WWE alumni Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears and has returned to the northwest where he has left a trail of humbled opponents in his wake. He is excited about his upcoming visit to Prince George.

“My good friend Scotty Mac recently wrestled for Primetime Wrestling and he shared with me that there is some real competition there. I’m looking for a challenge. You only become the best by beating the best, so Primetime is where I need to be. I’ve heard that the fans there are the best in the province, so I look forward to meeting them all in person.”

The giant is just one attraction on a weekend that will include a few firsts. On Saturday night, the Primetime Wrestling tag team championship will be contested in a “Table Match”. To win, one team has to crash either member of the opposing team through a table to claim a victory.

But the wrestlers won’t be the only ones seeking a big win this weekend. Primetime Wrestling has raised more than $50,000 for local charities and community causes over the past three years. This weekend, they are partnering with the Prince George Hospice society to help them achieve their latest fundraising goal in advance of their upcoming Colour Walk.

Some of the matches announced for this weekend include:

Friday Night:

  • Andy Anderson defends the Primetime championship against Mighty Lokombo
  • Scotty Mac vs. Sean Gaston
  • The debut of the seven-foot Van Bruggen.

Saturday Night:

  • Tables Match: Tag team champions, Midnight Vice vs. The Caribroozers
  • Barlow Creek Butcher opposes Thelonious Jovinious Harlequin
  • Van Hellion defends the VIP championship against Chase Degenhardt

Each night features a different lineup, making both shows a must-see experience.

Tickets are available now at Scrapbook Zone, 3 Goblin Games in Prince George, and online at Ticketseller.ca.

Primetime Wrestling continues to deliver exciting live events while remaining deeply connected to the community it proudly serves.
