At approximately 6:30 p.m. on May 1, Prince George Fire Rescue crews responded to the 1600 block of Johnson Street for a commercial structure fire. First arriving crews found a large commercial building with heavy smoke and flame on one side of the structure.
Crews initiated an aggressive attack and knocked down the fire on the exterior of the building before entering the structure to extinguish flames inside.
Damage was confined to the building of origin. Damage is estimated at $150,000. There were no injuries to either firefighters or the public. The cause is currently under investigation.
