Robbery suspect in custody, police looking for further information

Shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, Prince George RCMP received a call that a financial institution on the 700-block of Central Street West had just been robbed and that the suspect had left the building with a small amount of cash.

Frontline police officers were in the area within minutes, obtaining witness statements and reviewing video surveillance footage. Investigators quickly determined a suspect and located him at his residence, where he was subsequently arrested; he is currently being held in custody while the investigation continues.

“Police believe the suspect crossed the road following the robbery and may have discarded either a dark-coloured jacket or hoodie underneath a silver Honda that was parked in front of an apartment complex on the 800-block of Central Street East. If anyone saw the article of clothing and picked it up or knows where it currently is, we are asking they speak with police,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

If anyone witnessed this incident or has information that can help advance the investigation, they can contact an investigator by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 or else anonymously by calling Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This investigation is ongoing.
