Prince George RCMP is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying a vehicle and its occupants from an incident that occurred on February 27, 2026, between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The incident began when a 13-year-old girl was walking toward the skate park on Blackburn Road South and was approached by a couple in their black Hyundai SUV. Allegedly, the couple in the vehicle, described as a man and woman in their forties, offered the young girl a ride, which she declined. The couple is described as offering to give the young girl a ride several times and circling the area where the girl was walking. The girl was able to create some distance between herself and the vehicle and then called her parents for a ride home.
Investigators are now releasing a clip from nearby video surveillance in hopes that someone will recognize the vehicle and its occupants and provide police with this information, so they can speak with the couple to determine what their role was in this incident.
“This young girl took exactly the right action in a situation that made her uncomfortable: she created some distance and called for help. Police want to encourage parents to speak to their kids and youth about what to do when they don’t feel safe, and this is a great example of what actions to take,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The man in this incident is described as in his 40s, with dark hair and a beard. The woman is of a similar age and had a chihuahua with her.
