On February 20, 2026, Prince George RCMP began investigating an incident that occurred at a local retailer on the 6500-block of Southridge Avenue, at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Police officers were informed of an argument between two persons that resulted in pepper spray being deployed within the store. Investigators attended the area and quickly identified those persons involved, who were arrested and subsequently released.
“Thankfully, no one was injured in this incident, though some customers in the store were made uncomfortable with the pepper spray in the air,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “Police are reminding the public that if you notice anything suspicious in your environment, they should call the police to report the information by either calling 9-1-1, if there is immediate danger, or by calling the non-emergency line.”
This incident remains under investigation.
