Prince George Iceman set for February 8

Grab your friends, or take on the challenge solo, for the ultimate winter challenge: the 39th annual Prince George Iceman! Set for February 8, 2026, this multi-sport event combines winter fun and showcases Prince George’s amazing recreational facilities.

The PG Iceman is meant for everyone, whether you’re a 10-year-old first timer, or a seasoned athlete. Athletes aged 10-15 compete in the junior category or school category (4km ski, 5km run, 5km run, 3km skate, 5km run, and 400m swim), while those 16+ can join a team or tackle the event solo (8km ski, 10km run, 5km skate, 5km run, and 800m swim).

The event is spectator-friendly with many opportunities to cheer on participants at the Caledonia Nordic Centre and the Outdoor Ice Oval. Due to the upcoming closure of the Aquatic Centre, the 5k route will go from the Oval to downtown with the swim taking place at the Canfor Leisure Pool.
