The board of directors for Tourism Prince George welcomes Scott McWalter as the organization’s new executive director following a comprehensive recruitment process.
McWalter brings extensive experience in marketing, communications, and community leadership, with a track record of developing high-performing campaigns that drive measurable engagement and impact. His ability to communicate clearly, connect strategy to action, and foster collaborative relationships within the Prince George community make him a strong fit to lead Tourism PG through its next strategic phase.
“We’re pleased to welcome Scott to the role of executive director,” said Jamie Valcourt, Chair of the Tourism Prince George Board of Directors. “Scott’s business acumen, creativity, and commitment to collaboration align strongly with the board’s strategic direction. His leadership will continue to build on the solid foundation already in place as Tourism Prince George moves forward with its upcoming Strategic Plan.”
“Prince George is an extraordinarily special place where collaboration, vision and community spirit make big things possible,” said McWalter. “Tourism Prince George plays an important role in shaping how visitors and residents experience our beautiful city and region. I’m excited to work with the Tourism Prince George team to continue growing that impact in a way that reflects the incredible energy and pride of this community.”
The board also expressed appreciation to Carmen Herman for her professionalism and leadership while serving as Interim CEO.
“Carmen has guided the organization with stability and dedication during this transition. Stakeholders and colleagues are quick to point out her passion for the industry and the TPG team.” said Valcourt.
McWalter will officially assume his new role on November 24.
