Fire damages building on Ontario Street

On July 22 at approximately 12 p.m., Prince George Fire Rescue crews from four halls responded to a commercial structure fire in the 100 block of Ontario Street.

Crews ensured all occupants were safely outside while additional crews investigated to determine the fire location. Functioning fire and smoke detection systems helped to alert occupants to the danger while sprinklers in the building helped to suppress the fire.

Three building occupants were medically evaluated and treated by fire rescue staff and British Columbia Ambulance Service personnel. There were no injuries to first responders as a result of this fire.

Damage from smoke, fire, and water is estimated at $60,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
