Quesnel is a community defined by the care that residents take in looking out for neighbors and friends. And it is getting some heavyweight assistance on July 12 when the bruisers from Prince George’s Primetime Wrestling come to town to provide aid for a critical fundraiser in support of our own Danielle (Dannie) Caron.
Dannie, the owner of Creative Creations was forced to close a store than she built with love and passion as she was too sick to carry on. Currently in need of a PEG stomach tube and private medical remedies that the public system is unable to provide, Danielle is battling multiple incurable diseases with heartbreaking side effects. There are solutions available, but they come with a hefty price tag, and that’s when local pro wrestlers stepped in to help to reach the critical fundraising goal.
Primetime Wrestling has been operating in Prince George and surrounding areas over the past three years and through their efforts have contributed more than $29,000 to local non-profit and charitable causes. Most recently, their efforts to support the Quesnel foodbank proved to be a big help to replenish the coffers. However, this cause hits a little closer to home for the touring pro wrestling league. Dannie’s son, Brandon, is a pro wrestling referee with Primetime, under the name “Fearless” Freddie Falcon.
Proceeds from every ticket sold for the July 12 event, held at Quesnel Seniors Centre at 7 p.m. will help to cover medical, travel and living expenses for Dannie to ensure that she receives the life-saving care that she needs. In addition, some of the wrestlers are also donating their appearance fees in support of the cause.
Tickets, which are close to being sold out, are available at Circle S Western Wear, and online at Ticketseller.ca. Tickets may be available at the door, while seats are available.
