It’s the final countdown – to the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg

We’re one week away from the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg, benefitting the B.C. Special Olympics Summer Games.

“We want to give special thanks to our presenting sponsor, RBC, for coming on board and partnering with us for this event. We can’t wait to see everyone cheering us along the route and then joining us at the community barbecue, sponsored by the Four Rivers Co-Op,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Map of the race route bordered by Ospika Boulevard, Victoria Street, Fifth Avenue and Massey Drive. The race route is marked in blue. The route for this year sees us starting at the Prince George RCMP Detachment on Fifth Avenue and Victoria Street at 10:30 a.m. Participants will stop on Victoria Street in front of RBC for a photo op, then head westbound on Sixth Avenue until Winnipeg Street. From there, the runners will follow Winnipeg Street as it turns into Massey Drive. When they hit Ospika Boulevard they will turn north until we get to CN Centre, which is the end point for this year’s event, and where the barbecue will be taking place. They anticipate arriving at CN Centre around noon.

“Additional thanks goes out to our other sponsors: Four Rivers Co-Op, Westland Insurance, DJ Ant, PWTransport, Prince George Fire Rescue Service, Princess Auto and AimHi. Without their contributions, this event would not be the success we know it’s going to be,” said Cooper.

A reminder that the barbecue is by donation, with proceeds benefitting the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg.
