Vandals cause thousands of dollars of damage at cemetery

Prince George RCMP is looking to the public for any information that may help identify the suspect(s) who caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage at the Prince George Municipal Cemetery.

The investigation began in the morning of June 23, 2025 when staff at the cemetery reported to police that approximately 20 headstones had been knocked over during the night. Estimates put the amount of the damage between $20,000-$25,000.

“Unfortunately, there is no surveillance in the cemetery grounds to provide us with insight into who the suspect is or are. Investigators are asking that anyone who has information on who may have caused this damage to please come forward with the details,” said Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

This investigation is ongoing.
