
It appears Prince George voters aren’t in a mood for a change.
Both Conservative incumbents seem headed back to Ottawa as results from the 45th federal election continue to roll in.
In Cariboo-Prince George, with 100 of 266 polls reporting, Todd Doherty has a sizable lead with 11,226 votes. Liberal challenger Clinton Emslie has 5,551 votes. New Democrat Angie Bonazzo has 1,271 votes. Green Party candidate Jodie Capling has 327 votes. People’s Party candidate Rudy Sans has 138 votes. Christian Heritage Party candidate has 75 votes. Independent candidate Kenneth B. Thompson has 72.
In Prince George-Peace River Northern Rockies, with 105 of 275 polls reporting, Conservative Bob Zimmer is well on his way to being re-elected with 13,977 votes.
Liberal Peter Njenja is well behind with 3,369. New Democrat Cory Grizz Longley has 1,123. Green Party candidate Mary Forbes has 408 votes. People’s Party candidate David Watson has 259.
