The Prince George Public Library invites all book-lovers to the annual Friends of the PG Public Library Spring Book Sale happening this weekend! These sales regularly attract hundreds of enthusiasts, all eager to add to their home libraries and support their public library at the same time.
Members of the Friends of the Library enjoy early access to the book sale on Friday, April 25th, from 3:00-5:30pm. Memberships can be purchased at the door for $5 (cash only). No membership is required to attend the public sale on April 26th from 10:00am-2:30pm. All items are purchased by-donation, with proceeds going towards supporting special items, programs, and initiatives at the PG Public Library.
Lila Reynolds, President of the Friends of the PG Public Library, is excited to invite the community to the event, and encourages attendees to bring their own reusable bags or boxes, cash, and love of books and bargains.
The Friends are local volunteers who are dedicated to supporting the programs and services of PGPL. They firmly believe that developing libraries is a crucial part of developing communities, and that’s why they promote the library and raise necessary funds for special library projects. Since their incorporation in 1990, the Friends have raised over $440,000 with fundraising initiatives like Book Sales, memberships and merchandise sales (mugs and bookbags), and 50/50 draws.
Reynolds emphasizes the strong bond between the Friends of the Prince George Public Library Society and PGPL, which has been built on trust and respect. The Friends have supported, promoted, and advocated for PGPL for over 30 years, and they plan to continue doing so for many years to come.
