The City of Prince George says the boardwalk updates at the Ferguson Lake Trail are now completed and ready for the public to use.
In February the city announced the western portion of the trail would be closed from March 3 for the construction to commence.
The work was completed ahead of schedule and involved removing and replacing the old support posts and boardwalk, which has improved the safety of the trail system.
The access ramps to the boardwalk will be replaced in the coming weeks as soon as the snow and ice are gone. Users can access the boardwalk with the existing ones.
The Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve is owned by the Nature Trust of BC and managed by the City of Prince George.
The project is expected to come in under the budgeted figure of $276,000 which is made up of a Canada Community Building Fund grant of $220,000 and the rest of the funding will be from the General Infrastructure Reinvestment Fund.
