Prince George area candidates … so far

Even though it was rumoured for quite some time that we would be headed into a spring election, candidates in the Prince George area are still being finalized.

What we do know is that incumbent Todd Doherty will be carrying the Conservative banner in the Cariboo-Prince George riding and incumbent Bob Zimmer will be the Conservative candidate in Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies.

Zimmer was first elected in 2011 while Doherty was first elected in 2015.

To date, no Liberal candidates have been named in either riding.

Angie Bonazzo is the NDP candidate in Cariboo-Prince George. She has worked for the Northern Health Authority since 2005, focusing on long-term care. She is active with the Hospital Employees Union.

The NDP have yet to name a candidate in Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies.

Jodie Capling is the Green Party’s candidate in Cariboo-Prince George. After completing a master’s degree in resource management, she worked in energy efficiency in the private sector for five years. She then made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom and is now teaching yoga and movement.

The party website lists Mary Forbes as the candidate in Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies, but has no information on her.

Rudy Sans is running in Cariboo-Prince George for the Peoples Party of Canada. His career journey began in retail, and he now serves as a BC Public Servant in the Judicial Branch in Prince George.

David Watson is carrying the Peoples Party of Canada banner in Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies. He is currently the postmaster in Bear Lake.
