Call for artists for Omineca’s annual June Indigenous Group Art Show

The Omineca Arts Centre has issued a call for submissions for its annual Indigenous Arts exhibition, Renewal, taking place throughout June 2025 in honor of National Indigenous People’s Day.

This exhibition celebrates the rich diversity and talent of Indigenous artists, highlighting the dynamic interplay between traditional heritage and contemporary expression.

Indigenous art is a living, evolving tradition, reflecting the ongoing dialogue between past, present, and future. “Renewal” invites artists to explore this continuum, where ancient wisdom inspires modern innovation, shaping visions of the future rooted in tradition.

Located at 369 Victoria Street in Prince George, the Omineca Arts Centre aims to provide a platform for Indigenous artists across all disciplines, including visual arts, music, storytelling, and performance.

Indigenous artists are invited to submit their work for consideration by April 30, 2025.
Submissions can include sculptures, paintings, photographs, songs, stories, poems, performances, short films, crafts, and more!

Each artist may submit up to three works for consideration. Live performers may perform during the reception 6:30 p.m. June 12th, 2025.

Selected artwork must be delivered ready for installation by May 31st, 2025, and must be framed or prepared with appropriate fixtures for hanging or installation.

To apply, please complete and sign the application form and include an image, copy, or detailed description of your submission(s). Submissions can be sent by post to 369 Victoria Street or electronically to info@ominecaartscentre.com, with the subject line Renewal. For postal submissions, please include a self-addressed return envelope with sufficient postage for return shipping.

For inquiries and direct submissions, please contact Omineca Art Centre at info@ominecaartscentre.com.
Join us in celebrating Renewal with the empowered voices and creative visions of Northern Indigenous artists as we honor the past, embrace the present, and en-vision the future.
