Engage Sport North has expanded its Active Star program to four days a week, made possible by local sponsor, Canadian Tire Prince George. This partnership is a testament to the shared commitment between Engage Sport North and Canadian Tire to enhancing community health and childhood development through physical literacy.
Active Star is a key program of Engage Sport North, offering free physical literacy sessions for preschoolers. It provides a safe and engaging environment for their first introduction to physical activity. With the backing of Canadian Tire Prince George, the program has returned to four days per week. Operating Monday through Thursday, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre in Prince George.
“Canadian Tire Prince George’s support has been instrumental in allowing us to expand our services and reach more families,” said Sarah Saunders, Executive Director at Engage Sport North. “Their dedication to the children and this program allows us to provide a strong foundation in physical education, inspiring lifelong health and active living within our community.”
Selen Alpay, the local owner, said: “We are always appreciative of the work that many organizations do here in Prince George, supporting kids and families in being active. Our hope is that this expansion enables even more families to participate.”
