March 9 marks five years since the passing of Chad Staley (former Spruce King). In honour of his legacy, the Chad Staley Memorial Foundation (CSMF) will host a special community gathering on Sunday, March 9, at the Prince George Golf & Curling Club. This event, running from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will celebrate the foundation’s progress over the past year and unveil upcoming initiatives. Key supporters, partners, and community members are invited to join.
The gathering will highlight the foundation’s ongoing efforts to support athletes and promote mental resilience and well-being—two core pillars of CSMF’s mission.
Featured speakers include:
- Rae Ann Noonan, Executive Director of the Prince George Community Foundation (PGCF), who will discuss the partnership between CSMF and PGCF.
- Simone Lamarche, Director of High-Performance CSS-PG from Engage Sport North, will speak on the importance of mental resilience and injury recovery in both sport and life.
Additionally, the foundation will recognize a community member whose significant contribution has helped CSMF establish new funding opportunities for local sports organizations and community services supporting athletes, coaches, and parents.
Whether you’re interested in getting involved or learning more about the foundation’s initiatives, join us Sunday, March 9. For donation opportunities, please visit PG Community Foundation website here. CSMF is also seeking passionate volunteers and board members dedicated to youth, sport, and mental health.
