Glorious triumph between the ropes

The boastful villains were humbled in January at the Prince George Civic Centre when the scourge of local mat fans Andy Anderson and Vance Nevada were thwarted by the local tandem of “The Prospector” Wes Barker and The Barlow Creek Butcher. However, their protests were drowned out by the enthusiasm of the local mat fans in attendance.

More than 800 people packed into the Civic Centre over the weekend to check out Primetime Wrestling, which continues to grow its fanbase in Prince George. They were treated to two solid nights of dropkicks and bodyslams featuring local heroes and a swarm of villains they love to hate.

“It’s encouraging to see the continued growth of pro wrestling here in Prince George,” says CEO Davy Greenlees, the maestro behind the mayhem. “I think this weekend saw our biggest crowds yet, and we are really excited for what we have in store for the fans this year.”

The winners weren’t only those competing from bell to bell. The 142 Aurora Navy League cadets cashed in $1,200 in donations over the two nights, and Canadian wrestling legend Karl Moffat, best known as Jason the Terrible, was inducted into the Primetime Hall of Fame.

What’s Next? The grapplers return to action on March 14 and 15, with three championship matches already set, including:
     – Wes Barker challenges Andy Anderson for the Heavyweight Championship.
     – John Gillespie corners Sean Gaston in a Lumberjack Match for the Northwestern Title.
     – Rising stars Donnie Brooks (Prince George) and Rebel Knoxville (Quesnel) will team up for their first championship opportunity against titleholders Braydon Goss and Leon Lokombo.

Additionally, Primetime Wrestling has announced that the charity for the March shows will be the Duchess Park Dry Grad Committee, helping local students celebrate their achievements in a safe and memorable way.
