A great collection of Family Day, Valentines Day, and other activities are planned at Northern Routes sites across the region this month! These include:
The opening of two new Two Rivers Gallery Exhibits: Be the first to experience Dreamers and The Road Not Taken on February 7th! Artists Emily Neufeld and Betty Kovacic invite us to reflect upon the connection between the earth and the human in The Road Not Taken. Amber Bracken, the artist behind Dreamers, is the first Canadian to receive the World Press Photo prize and her work has been published internationally in The Globe and Mail, National Geographic, & The New York Times. Enjoy these artists’ talks, light refreshments, and cash bar.
Gold Rush Trail Sled Dog Mail Run: See the final leg of the Gold Rush Trail Sled Dog Mail Run at Barkerville on February 9th! The Gold Rush Trail Sled Dog Mail Run is living history for the past 33 years. Dedicated mushers and their dog teams will again be sworn in as official mail carriers and will carry Canada Post mail in their dog sleds over the Gold Rush Trail to Barkerville.
Anti-Valentines’ Live Stand-Up Comedy Show: Feeling done with Valentines’ Day? Celebrate that feeling at the Railway and Forestry Museum on February 15th with a live comedy show! Whether you’re single, taken, or “it’s complicated,” this event promises gut-busting laughs and good vibes in a unique venue setting. This event will be held on February 15th at 7:30 at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum.
These are just three of nearly 20 events going on at Northern Routes sites this month; find the one for you at northernroutes.ca.
