Prince George Hospice to participate in UBC dementia initiative

January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in British Columbia, and at the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society is recognizing the profound impact Alzheimer’s disease has on individuals, their families, and their caregiver-partners.

Alzheimer’s not only affects those living with the condition but also deeply impacts the lives of those who care for and love them. At PGHPCS, they are dedicated to supporting individuals and families as they navigate these challenges, and we are excited to share an important development in this effort.

Hospice has been selected to participate in the UBC Nav-CARE Compassionate Dementia Inclusive Community Initiative. This program is designed to enhance support for people living with dementia and their caregivers-partners, helping to create a compassionate, inclusive community where everyone feels supported and empowered.

“Being part of the UBC Nav-CARE initiative is a meaningful opportunity for our organization and our community,” said Donna Flood, Executive Director of PGHPCS. “Through this project, we will be able to bring new resources, education, and much-needed support to individuals with dementia and their caregiver-partners in Prince George.”

To help us understand the needs of our community we invite people with dementia and/or those that care for them to complete our survey Found here
