Police investigating overnight shooting

Prince George RCMP are currently investigating a shooting that occurred overnight between January 16, 2025 and January 17, 2025 at a commercial building on the 1600-block of Fourth Avenue.

Investigators were informed of the shooting by staff at the business on the morning of January 17, when employees began to arrive. Staff stated to police the last employee left the building around 9:00 p.m. and the building was re-attended at 6:00 a.m. the next morning. A truck unrelated to the business, which was parked outside of the building, was also struck during the incident.

Investigators are asking that anyone in the area between 9 p.m. on January 16 and 6 a.m. on January 17 that may have witnessed anything unusual or would have dash camera or video surveillance please contact an investigator by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.

“We understand that it can be traumatic for victims of violent crimes such as this to process what their next steps are, and we want to remind everyone that our Victim Services unit is available to support victims of crime throughout all stages of an investigation. The more participation victims or witnesses have in an investigation, the more information we can collect and put towards a fulsome analysis of what occurred,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The exact nature of this incident is still under investigation. Police officers are asking the public to report anything unusual they see in their neighbourhood to police.

The investigation remains ongoing.
