The board of directors of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) of Northern BC have named Katherine Carlson as new their new executive officer.

“Katherine brings the experience and attributes we need to support the association’s continued growth, to skillfully advocate for our members, and firmly position us as the voice of residential construction in our region,” said association president, Angèle Heinrichs. “Her passion and history of leadership in delivering programs, education, and public events will continue to elevate us. We warmly welcome Katherine to the association.”

An alumna of the University of Northern British Columbia, Carlson’s roots are proudly entrenched in Prince George. “I believe that leadership is the spearhead that propels an organization forward,” said Carlson. “At the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of Northern BC, this means advancing through advocacy, education, and the latest in building technology. I’m thrilled to connect with and collaborate with industry leaders, represent the industry’s voice, contribute to equitable policy-making, learn from various stakeholders, and both encourage and be inspired in professional development endeavors aimed at benefiting the industry and consumers alike.”

Carlson will officially assume the position on January 6, succeeding Terri McConnachie, who has led the association for the past 11 years.
