The Smithers RCMP are asking the public for assistance in locating Timothy Bakanec.
On October 20, 2021, Timothy Bakanec is alleged to have been involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 16 and 16 Avenue in Smithers, BC.
The collision resulted in the death of the other vehicle’s driver and significant injuries to the passenger.
Timothy Bakanec has been charged with driving without due care and attention under Section 144(1)(a) of the Motor Vehicle Act and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
“We are urging Mr. Bakanec to turn himself into his local police detachment to address these allegations through the courts,”
said Sergeant Ryan Law of the Smithers RCMP.
Timothy Bakanec is described as:
- Caucasian man
- 73-years-old
- 5 ft 7 in (170)cm)
- 172lbs (78kg)
Unfortunately, police do not have a photo of Timothy Bakanec. Anyone who knows him is asked to please call their local police.
