With the mail stopped, the single moms and low-income parents who need help this Christmas might be impacted. A crucial lifeline for many charities is facing disruption due to the ongoing Canada Post strike. Advokate Life & Education Services, a leading charitable organization in B.C. is urging supporters to consider alternative giving methods to ensure their donations reach those in need.
“The Canada Post strike has a significant impact on charities, especially during the year-end giving season,” says Jared White, Executive Director at Advokate. “Many of our supporters rely on traditional mail to send their donations. With the ongoing strike, their donations could be delayed or potentially lost, which in turn could delay our ability to help.”
Advokate has launched their annual Give the Gift of Life campaign and is encouraging supporters to explore online donation platforms and direct deposit methods.
In Prince George, this would include the Hope For Women Centre – their information can be found: https://hopeforwomen.ca/prince-george-pregnancy-options/
“Every dollar donated makes a life-saving and transformative difference in the lives of our clients,” Jared White adds. “By choosing alternative giving methods, you can help us continue our mission of putting hope in action for vulnerable women and low-income families facing unexpected pregnancy so they can thrive.”
Through free and confidential services including counselling, ultrasounds, maternity and baby supplies, housing support, postpartum support, post-abortion care, and so much more, Advokate is a critical lifeline for hundreds of women and children in our community.

This is an anti-choice centre! They refuse to help people with abortion and provide biased information about it. Please do not promote this kind of org for donations, as it’s misleading for the public to not understand who they’re donating to.
