New exhibition takes us along a scenic and self-healing journey

Li Apwéen di mawshay, Northern Michif for “It is solved by walking,” takes inspiration from the Latin phrase “solvitur ambulando”: to find a practical solution to life’s problems.

In this exhibition, guests will find themselves walking along Natasha Lepine’s works, following her journey of self-healing and self-discovery as she surrounds herself with nature. The show runs from December 6 to January 22.

Natasha Lepine is a Métis multimedia artist residing in Quesnel, British Columbia. Primarily working with oil on canvas and painting en plein air, Lepine translates the emotions of the landscapes she surrounds herself with. Her works reflect her goal of coming to peace with stillness, and her appreciation of British Columbia’s ever-diverse topography. Lepine strives to be in the moment with herself and the world around her while she creates.

Lepine has worked with groups such as the First Peoples’ Cultural Council, Métis Nation British Columbia, BC Culture Days, and was also Omineca Arts Centre’s artist-in-residence for the month of September, 2024.

In her free time away from creating and working, she finds herself hiking, skiing, and reading comic books. We invite guests to take a stroll alongside Lepine’s works and look upon the landscapes from her point of view. Perhaps, taking in each scenic landscape upon the Galleria walls, you, too, will solve some of your troubles along the way.
