Prince George wrestling alumnus and B.C. Sports Hall of Famer, Delta Dawn, has been making headlines from Vancouver to New York following the release of the documentary about her life and career which is drawing huge acclaim on the Film Festival circuit. Local friends and fans will have the opportunity to see the film in person this Saturday afternoon at the Prince George Civic Centre.
The screening is being hosted by Primetime Wrestling as part of their upcoming blockbuster wrestling weekend with the screening taking place at 1 pm on Saturday afternoon. Admission is by donation and all proceeds will support Dawn’s travels to attend the New York Film Festival, which is the next international screening for the film.
“Dawn is truly a pioneer of women’s wrestling in Canada and her career has paved the way for a generation of wrestlers to follow. Her path to, and through, the world of wrestling is quite unique and this film is a great depiction of the successes and hurdles that she has had to navigate personally and professionally for the love of her craft,” said Davy Greenlees, the organizer of the event.
