One dead following shooting downtown

One person is dead following a shooting late Wednesday evening.

Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is investigating the shooting that occurred on November 6, 2024 at 11:45 p.m. on the 1500-block of Victoria Street.

Police officers immediately attended the location and began a search for the suspect, who remains outstanding. Investigators are asking that anyone who was in the area between 11:35 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. and may have dash camera footage, cell phone video or video surveillance from that area, please speak with a police officer.

“This appears to be a targeted attack; however, the investigation is at its preliminary stages and we continue to gather evidence,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “We ask that anyone who has information that may aid in this investigation, please contact an police officer by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency number at 250-561-3300.”

The investigation is ongoing.
