The City of Prince George is now accepting applications for the 2025 intake of the Celebrate PG Grant. This grant supports registered non-profits in launching new or enhancing existing events that foster community pride and draw visitors to the city.
Applications are open once per year, with the deadline for this intake set for December 13 at 4:30 p.m.
Grants range from $5,000 to a maximum of $10,000, depending on the event type. Emerging events are eligible for lower amounts, while signature events—which must have a minimum three-year track record of success and an operating budget of at least $100,000—may qualify for higher funding.
Eligible applicants must be registered non-profit societies, and events must be held within Prince George city limits and open to the public.
The Celebrate PG Grant may fund:
- Enhancements to visitor experiences, such as high-profile entertainers or activities made possible through grant funding
- Expanding a one-day event into a two-day event (preference given to multi-day events)
- Marketing expenses
The Celebrate PG Grant does not cover:
- Standard expenses for recurring events
- Costs incurred before grant approval and funding confirmation
- Organizational operating or capital expenses
- Administration fees, event coordination, and staffing costs
- Budget overrun
- Fundraisers, sports events, political events, consumer/trade shows, galas, religious events, healthcare events, and conferences
In 2024, the City awarded nearly $30,000 in Celebrate PG funding to events including the Pops in the Park, the Pride Picnic, Method Dance Society’s Community Moves event, the Coldsnap music festival, and the Wild About Lheidli T’enneh/Prince George (WALTPG) outdoor festival.
