A strong Pacific frontal system will begin pushing into the B.C. interior this morning. Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for areas of the Cariboo, specfically Clinton to 100 Mile House via Begbie Summit.
Southerly/southeasterly winds associated with the warm front will create gusty winds Monday morning into the afternoon. However, the winds associated with the cold front are expected to be stronger bringing strong westerly and northwest winds near 70 gusting to 90 km/h beginning late Monday afternoon and lasting into Monday night.
Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
