Holtvogt makes 36 saves in 2-1 setback to Kamloops in pre-season clash

Despite a terrific 36 save effort in goal from Brady Holtvogt, the Prince George Cougars dropped their third contest of the pre-season, in a 2-1 setback to the Kamloops Blazers, Friday at the Sandman Centre. Jett Lajoie supplied the lone Cougar goal in the loss. Prince George concludes the pre-season tomorrow night against the Blazers at the West Fraser Centre. Puck drop is at 5:00 pm.

1st Period:

1-0 Blazers at 12:44 – Matteo Koci (1) (PP) assisted by Kai Matthew // The Blazers generated a few chances on the man advantage, and blue-liner Matteo Koci was able to walk up the middle and fire a shot from the slot, top corner, on the glove-side of Brady Holtvogt to make it 1-0 Blazers.

2nd Period:

1-1 Cougars at 11:35 – Jett Lajoie (1) (PP) assisted by Aiden Foster and Ephram McNutt // Aiden Foster received a pass on the wall on left-wing side from Ephram McNutt, and Foster spotted Jett Lajoie on the back door and tapped the puck Dylan Ernst to make it 1-1.

2-1 Blazers at 15:01 – Andrew Thomson (1) assisted by Tommy Lafreniere // The Blazers re-stored their lead on an odd man rush. Tommy Lafrieiere carried the puck up the right wing and fired it cross ice to Andrew Thomson who slid the puck by Brady Holtvogt to make it 2-1.
