Food drive set to help Jasper evacuees

On a recent visit to the Robson Valley, Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond determined that there is a critical need for a variety of food items in the organization that serves as the food bank in that area. The influx of evacuees has completely drained the organization and refilling it will be a significant effort that the city of Prince George can greatly contribute to. Wood Wheaton Supercenter is partnering with all of the local Save on Foods for the weekend of August 9-11 for a food drive. There will be a donation bin at the exit of each location that community members can drop donations into. Wood Wheaton will pick up full bins and store them to be delivered the following week.

Suggested donations:

Fruit packs any kind and amount, granola bars any kind and amount, canned fruit/canned veggies assortment in any amount feasible, canned (chicken, ham, tuna etc.) assortment  in any amount feasible, juice boxes any kind and amount, mini-size shampoo and conditioners, menstrual supplies in light to medium size 5-8 packages, tooth brushes and tooth paste, female shaving kits (razor and soap), contact solution, oil, baking soda, and more.
