Foodie Fridays is back for the summer

Popular weekly event Foodie Fridays returns to downtown Prince George with an exciting kick-off this Friday, July 5. From noon to 4 p.m. on July 5, 19, 26, and August 2, 9, 16, and 30, Foodie Fridays brings food trucks, vendors, entertainment – and hungry residents – to Canada Games Plaza (725 Canada Games Way).

The idea of Foodie Fridays was first brought to city staff in 2016 by a group of local businesses who wanted to bring something new downtown.

This year’s event kicks off on Friday, featuring live entertainment from Amanda Wood, and vendors including Smokehouse on the Run, Afro Caribbean, and Joels Cookies. Tourism PG will also be open in their new location nearby and games like Connect 4 and Ladder Ball will be set up in the Plaza.

Confirmed entertainment for the summer includes Amanda Wood, Grace Hoksbergen, and Sam Holden. Summer food vendors will include Joels Cookies, Franks Family Kitchen, Smokehouse on the Run, Baller Foods, and Afro Caribbean.

Food truck operators, vendors, and entertainers can email eventservices@princegeorge.ca for more information on how to take part.
