Acoustic pop duo LooPS at Deadfall Brewing June 27

LooPS, the musical group consisting of lead singer Kevin Roy and instrumentalist and vocalist Jon Fennell, have released a new single and are eager to share it with the world, including Prince George.

They will be performing at Deadfall Brewing June 27.

“Last Goodbye” was LooPS’ first experience recording in a larger scale recording studio – Vancouver’s EchoPlant studios with producer David Ziehr to be exact – after making a much more stripped-down demo album in 2021.

“While we were and still are proud of the songs we had previously made, the quality was not at the level that we are capable of and how we want the world to know of us and our music,” Kevin and Jon said.

The world is starting to listen too. “Last Goodbye” is gaining steam on streaming, with 35,000 streams and counting. Following the song’s success, LooPS went back to Echoplant Studios to record a radio-worthy version of their song “Mourning Girl,” which is set for a release in early May.

“We were determined to make a track that captures the essence of who are as an acoustic-pop duo, and are very proud of the end result,” Kevin and Jon said. “Our name comes from the loop station LooPS, that we use in our performances, and we wanted to create a track that while having the energy and feel of an Ed Sheeran song, also captures the harmonies and dynamic of us as a duo.”

LooPS’ music is relatable, exploring feelings of wanting and deserving. “Last Goodbye” is particularly catchy, with a chorus that sticks with listeners long after hearing the song. The lyrics and melody feel so specific, as if it’s written just for the person hearing the song.

Kevin and Jon are equally as passionate about philanthropy as they are music. On July 8, 2023, the BC, Canada-based duo gained national attention by breaking a Guinness World Record for the most concerts played in 12 hours in different cities. The prior record was eight, and LooPS made it to nine, with 23 minutes to spare!

LooPS has a history of helping charities by using their musical talents, and their record-breaking concert spree raised nearly $20,000 for the BC Childrens Hospital Foundation.

LooPS will be touring now through June, with dates in Vancouver, Kamloops, Summerland, Terrace and more.
