Wrestling fans in Prince George have reason to be excited with the announced return of Primetime Wrestling for two nights of action at the Civic Centre on June 14 and 15.
Generating the most excitement is the hometown return of “The Prospector” Wes Barker. The Prince George-born wrestler was absent from the cards in April and May as he has been in Texas, training under WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T and picking up some action in the southern States. He is eager to return and show off some of the new skills that he learned down south.
Also returning to action in June after a long absence is the 260-pound Mighty Lokombo. He created quite a stir with fans here last Spring and is returning after an aggressive touring schedule this year across western Canada. The three-time bodybuilding champion, whose two brothers are active in the Canadian Football League has been on a tear and he may be eyeing a championship here in the near future.
Of course, fans can expect to see maligned antagonists Vance Nevada and Andy Anderson, collectively known as “Nothin’ But Trouble”. The unpopular tag team champions have not been greeted warmly by the fans in Prince George, and it’s expected they will earn any new fans on this outing.
This time around, Primetime will be raising money for Engage Sports North – a local agency that has been promoting inclusive participation in sports here in the community for thirty years. The local wrestling league, that has contributed more than $22,800 to local charities over the past two years and are hopeful for the community’s support for this worthy local cause.
Wrestling tickets are currently available at local vendors J&A Stereo+ and the Scrapbook Zone, and now also available online at www.ticketseller.ca.
