This exciting event, hosted by Method Dance Society, promises a lineup of engaging workshops, moving performances, and collaborative art experiences for all ages.

From June 1-5, explore various locations across the city and dive into free workshops ranging from dance, yoga, and professional development. Don’t miss the special workshop led by UNBC Professor Dr. Lisa Dickson titled, “Building a Creative Philosophy: Reflection, Practice, Collaboration” – a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of your own creativity.

Mark your calendars for June 7-8 as we take the stage at the Knox Performance Centre for our mainstage showcase. Be prepared to be captivated by collaborative works from local artists Shelby Richardson, Lauren Fisher, and Sam Presley, accompanied by the musical talents of Justin Gendreau, Katherine Benny, Kelsey Jewesson, the dancers from Method Dance Society, along with special guests.

On June 9th, join us for a full day of free activities at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. Experience live performances by renowned choreographers Jenna Magrath, Shayla Dyble, Allison Keery, and special guest all the way from Labrador, Jenn Edwards. Activities feature professional dance artists from Prince George, as well as musicians, local youth and community members! Plus, don’t miss the chance to participate in our fun Jam:Reified, where local musicians, artists, and dancers come together for a one-hour collaborative art jam.

Work from this festival in the past has made a big impact on the BC dance sector and has been featured in cities across BC, showcasing the talent of Prince George artists.

“We are so excited to launch our second annual presentation of the Community Moves Festival,” said Executive Artistic Director Shelby Richardson “The events and activities are so unique and really celebrate the collaborative innovation of the artists living in Prince George.”

Method Dance Society extends a heartfelt thank you to the Prince George Community Foundation, the City of Prince George, CBC, and the Canada Council for the Arts for their generous support, making the Community Moves Festival possible.
