Hearing set for supportive homes proposal on Third Avenue

The Provincial Rental Housing Corporation is applying for a temporary use permit to allow a “Housing, Supportive” use on  property at 397 Third Avenue to facilitate the modular construction of 43 temporary supportive homes for the homeless.
In accordance with the Local Government Act, temporary use permits will allow a use not permitted by a zoning bylaw for a
maximum of three (3) years and may be renewed for an additional three (3) years.

A public hearing on the matter will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 22 in city council chambers.

Residents who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed Permit Application can provide comments to Council prior to their deliberation regarding matters contained in the application. Residents are invited to provide comments in writing. For more information on how to provide a written submission, please see the attached Notice.

Report to Council and additional application materials will be available for review on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 on the City’s website as part of the Council Meeting agenda package.
