On April 4, Prince George RCMP’s Problem Oriented Policing team began an investigation into alleged drug trafficking at a residence on the 7100-block of Guelph Crescent.
During the investigation a resident of that home was seen leaving the area while driving a stolen vehicle. Police officers stopped the vehicle and the driver, identified as 42-year-old James Alan Webb, was arrested. While searching the vehicle after the arrest, police officers located over four ounces of suspected illicit drugs, believed to be fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine.
“A Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed at the residence, where investigators located further illicit drugs, believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and heroin, as well as over 1700 M-ELSON (morphine) pills. Police officers also seized a large quantity of ammunition and a firearm,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Webb was held for court and the following charges have been approved in this matter:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Operating a conveyance while prohibited
- Possession of ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Driving while prohibited x2
- Driving while suspended
Any potential charges related to the drugs seized are pending further laboratory analysis and are subject to approval by the appropriate Prosecution Service. Webb will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
