Another Prince George Spruce King has announced his plans to play hockey at the next level this morning.
The Spruce Kings are thrilled to share that Alexis Cournoyer (’03) has announced his commitment to Brock University for the 2024-2025 season!
“We are happy for Alexis and his family that he was able to secure an opportunity to play university hockey,” said the Head Coach of the Prince George Spruce Kings, Alex Evin. ” We hope he will be a great addition to the Brock program.”
Cournoyer is a first-year Spruce King, joining the program after spending last year with the Saint John Sea Dogs in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In 42 games played with the Spruce Kings Cournoyer has been phenomenal, producing 11 goals and 26 points.
“I am very excited to join the Badgers family next year. It is a great opportunity to play with an excellent program,” said Cournoyer. “I want to thank all the friends, family, and coaches that helped me get to this point in my career.”
Brock University is in St. Catherines, Ontario. The Badgers men’s hockey team is coming off a tremendous regular season, finishing at the top of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) West standings in U SPORTS with a 21-7 record.
Currently, the Badgers are in the thick of a playoff race, with game one of the OUA West Final set to faceoff on February 29 between Brock University and Toronto Metropolitan University.
