TWolves kick off 2024 Canada West playoffs Wednesday vs. UBC

For just the second time in program history, the UNBC men’s basketball program will clash with the UBC Thunderbirds in postseason play.
 
The standings are set, and the #12 ranked UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team is off to Winnipeg next week for the 2024 Canada West Playoffs that run from Wednesday, February 21 through Sunday, February 25 at the Investors Group Athletic Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Todd Jordan’s club begins the single elimination tournament against the #5 ranked UBC Thunderbirds on Wednesday, February 21 at 6:00 pm PT.

After finishing the regular season with a 9-11 record, the TWolves have advanced to the Canada West playoffs for a third consecutive season. Despite finishing with the 10th best record, the TWolves rank 12th in RPI, setting the stage for the second ever playoff meeting between UNBC and UBC. The winner of Wednesday’s opening round matchup would then advance to face the #4 ranked hosts from Manitoba the next night.
 
During the 2023-24 regular season, the TWolves split their home matchups with UBC. Chris Ross poured in 28 points on January 19th to help guide UNBC to an 88-69 victory. A Victor Radocaj double-double the next night helped UBC to an 85-73 victory in the rematch. Dating back to 2022-23, the TWolves are 2-2 against UBC during regular season play.
