Dawson Creek Highway Patrol find drugs, firearm in vehicle that fled from police

On January 16, 2024, BC Highway Patrol in Dawson Creek located drugs, a firearm and ammunition, and counterfeit money in a Chevrolet Malibu that fled from police. BC Highway Patrol attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding and stunting, but the unidentified driver parked the vehicle in a driveway and fled on foot. The Malibu was impounded for seven days for stunting.

Police obtained a search warrant for the Malibu and located the following:

  • A carbine with loaded magazine
  • Hard body armour vest
  • Drugs believed to be Amphetamine, MDMA, and Fentanyl
  • $1260 in counterfeit money
